Is anxiety self diagnosable?

I don’t exactly know what anxiety is- I never cared to learn because I didn’t think I’d ever come across it, but when people talk about it, I can relate a lot. Like, when I’m in a public setting or have to talk, even with close friends, I tend to lose my breath. It gets hard for me to breathe and one of my guy friends makes fun of me because he says talking is like an exercise for me since I have to stop talking constantly and take deep breaths in. I also tend to overthink things and imagine the worst possible scenario. I can’t control it.. maybe it’s OCD, not too sure what that is.. sorry, I think too much.
