Itchy and sore after activities

So my boyfriend and I have been together for almost four months now, and have been fooling around pretty much the entire time. Long background shortened, he's the second guy I've been with sexually, and we've done more than my ex and I did (i.e. a lot more fingering, etc.) Well after this past time a few days ago, I'm now really itchy and tender down south, and I'm wondering if that's a normal thing? I also feel a little bit swollen, so I'm wondering if maybe it was a little too rough. Any advice or maybe even tips on how to make it better would be GREATLY appreciated because I'm slightly miserable feeling at the moment
