As an egg prepares for ovulation, more cervical mucus is produced. It appears at the opening of the vagina. It is generally yellow or white and cloudy. And it can feel sticky or tacky. While this type of mucus is usually before ovulation, it is generally still considered unsafe to engage in unprotected sex at this time if you are trying to avoid becoming pregnant.
