Zika while TTC: Just tried to change our flight - American Airlines

Long story short, we booked a trip to Bali before we were trying to conceive and now that we are, I don’t want to risk it with the Zika Virus being a concern per the CDC... I called to change the flight but they are trying to charge $1100 per person. That’s almost doubling what we paid originally. Currently non-refundable flights from Tulsa to Tokyo, Tokyo to Bali and back to Tulsa. We were trying to change it to Tul-Tokyo-Okinawa back to Tulsa. Anyone have any suggestions??
