Hereditary dilation problems?

I'm 40+1 I'm still not dilated at all. I forgot my mom didn't dialiate at all with me, her Dr's had her walking around the hospital to try and start contractions and once they started they hooked her up to monitoring and my heart rate was dropping rapidly with each contraction so they did an emergency C section immediately. Is the dialiting problem hereditary because I'm still not dialiting at all just like my momma didn't..

No it isn’t 😁👍🏻 But did you know that about 70% off all pregnant women go overdue? I don’t know what the standards are where you live, but here it’s normal to go to 42 weeks. I’m 40+4 right now. Impatient, yes, worried, no. Some people walk around dilated for weeks and some people dilate very fast in one night. It’s all normal don’t worry! 😘
