Does walking TRULY induce labor?

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and very miserable. In constant pain and just struggling. I need this baby out!! Everyone high and low has told me to walk, walk, walk. Does walking really work? My mom said they made her walk the halls to start contractions before they would even start medication to get it going and she said it worked. My sister said she walked her whole pregnancy and had her son at 37 weeks. Everyone else says it'll work. What's you ladies opinion? Will it really work?

A day before I gave birth my husband took me walking to venice beach to santa monica pier 2x! I was exhausted lol

At midnight I went to the hospital with contractions but they wouldnt take me because i was barely 2cm. They told me to walk which was really painful lol. I walked for abour 45 nins came back and by then I was 6cm. They took me in.

Walking works if your body is ready to go anyway! If your body isn't ready all the inducing tricks won't work most of the time. I'm 40 w 3 days and had sec yesterday took a 2 mile walk and use aromatherapy inducing oils to get my contractions going and even use nipple stimulation (sorry if it's all tmi) but none of it worked ! So I guess my body is not ready :( but try it anyway cause if you are ready it'll happen!!!!

It won't induce labor but it will speed it up if you're ready to go
