Small babies?

So I went to my appointment today I’m 31 weeks 5 days and they did a measurement scan on her and said that her weight is in the 41st percentile, which isn’t that concerning but her head size is 8th percentile and her thigh/leg area is 2nd percentile. They didn’t really seemed that concerned and told me “they’re gonna monitor it” and that it’s probably because I’m only 5 feet tall, but I can’t shake the feeling that something could be wrong or off. Did any of you have something like this and baby was fine? Like is she just going to be super tiny?

Both my boys were really small on scans. They monitored me right up until birth estimated I would have small 5 pound baby's at 39 weeks. Both were delivered at 7lbs 3oz and 7lbs 5oz which is perfectly normal range. You have got to remember they cant always get accurate measurements due to how baby is lying ect. Try not to worry too much xx

My doctor always told me the percentiles are just an abstract way of measuring. My daughter was born a bit early at 35 weeks but completely healthy (no issues) and she was 5lbs. She has been in the 10-15 percentile for weight and 60 percentile for height her whole life. The doctor always said that when they are born that percent was only meant to help measure her growth curve.. it would have been potentially a bad sign if she went from 15 percentile for weight at 3 months up to a 60 percentile by 6 months because it would mean her growth was not balanced or on the right growth curve for her. Her being a lightweight didn’t mean I was supposed to feed her differently to try to change it, it was just a baseline.
Percentiles are not an indication of poor health. Try not to get worried. Your doctors would say if they were and give you instructions if there was anything you could or should do about it.

my son was tiny. his head circumference was so small it didn't get on the charts until he was 2. his daddy and I have small heads. almost his whole life he's been 10% or below on the carts. some kids are small, look at your family history.

My first born was under the 10th percentile at birth. They label it IUGR. Hers was due to the placenta it wasn’t giving her enough nutrients. She’s 19 months old and thriving. She’s still short but I’m 5’2 so that could be totally unrelated.
