Thin adult diapers for heavy flow?

Hi guys! So I have a super heavy menstrual flow due to me being so irregular and not having them for months at a time & tonight I have to wear white scrubs. I have been doing research because typically a super tampon + overnight pad doesn’t keep leakage from occurring. It’s almost like the blood rolls off the back of the pad?? Not sure about that. BUT anyways, i have seen where women will use thin adult diapers over their underwear with the pad in them. Have any of you tried or done this? Does it work? I’m so nervous. I have to speak in front of several hundred people and I’m so scared that when I stand up to walk on stage I’m going to have a red booty.
