Yeast infection?

A week ago I got my wisdom teeth removed and I was prescribed amoxicillin to take 3 times a day. A couple days ago my vagina was SO SO itchy and quite red and irritated and I have since learned that taking antibiotics can cause yeast infections in women! (How lovely.)
But anyway, do i just stop taking the antibiotic? Or do i keep taking it and also take something to treat the infection? I’m not sure what to do... my mouth and vagina are driving me crazy

Take your medication as prescribed. See a gyno about your possible yeast infection. They’ll prescribe an anti-fungal

YO OK SO I got my wisdom teeth removed, prescribed amoxicillin, and BAM. yeast infection it was so horrible oh my god but anyways don’t stop taking the amoxicillin, you are taking it for A REASON. Instead, go talk to your doctor or if you don’t have the time/money there are yeast infection kits at Walmart called monostat and they come in levels 1,3 & 7 and are just around $15. I took the level 3 one and everything got better immediately which was a life saver.

I had the same issue. My doctor told me not to finish the regular amoxicillin the dentist gave me but instead she prescribed Augmentin which has amoxicillin in it but not as a heavy a dose and gave me Diflucan just to make sure the yeast cleared up.

You need to finish the antibiotics so it doesn’t create resistance in your body. Antibiotics kill off both good and bad bacteria all over. It throws off the flora so you get a yeast infection. They usually tell you to supplement with some yogurt or other probiotic to keep the yeast at bay.

You’ll have to treat the yeast infection with whatever method you choose and try to add some form of probiotics to your diet at least once daily if not more and at least 2 hours before or after taking the antibiotics.

No don't stop taking it!! Over time that will make the med not work for you. Keep taking it and get treated for a yeast infection. That's really common with antibiotics.

I get yeast infections every time I take antibiotics. My doctor just gives me the Monistat along with my script. Better go get some bc a yeast infection is downright Hell. I hope you feel better
