What’s the difference in colors between “spotting period” and your real period?

implantation (spotting) normally occurs 1-2 days, and a period cycle lasts 4-7 days. 
implantation bleeding can cause cramping, but these are much less intense than those you experience on your period. 
it can easily mimic your period but you can easily tell the difference because implantation bleeding is light and will remain light, whereas a period starts light and gets heavier. 
blood that looks bright or "vibrant" is an indication that it's your period. if you get light  pink or brown discharge, it's a sign of implantation. 
period flow normally follows through with it's full duration without stopping but implantation comes and goes for 1-2 days. 
implantation bleeding can cause light cramping that never intensifies.
