comparing?

anyone else's in laws comparing their baby to the other grandchildren? our baby is only a few months and it's already beginning 😑🙄 how do you deal?im trying to ignore it and keep the details of our baby's development low key. my husband is unaffected by it. i eyerolled so hard at her last comment that my eyeballs are down the block lol thanks ladies

My second daughter and my husband’s sister’s son are three days apart. He was born about 4 weeks early but still very healthy.  Before they were born my MIL compared how big we were (I was huge and SIL was tiny). Now nearly 2 years later MIL goes on and on about how baby boy is “delayed” and how worried they all are for him whenever I try to tell her about my girl’s milestones. He really isn’t delayed, just on the further end of normal. Just like SIL older child was. They still talk about him being premature and needing to stay in the “NICU” when really it was maybe two extra  days in the regular nursery.  My MIL wanted to do joint birthday parties at her house for them but I shot that idea down immediately for various reasons, mainly that they are different children from different parents who deserve individual celebrations

YESSS. I hate this! My MIL is comparing our 6 week old to my BIL first baby. Which get this, is not even born yet! 
I just want my little man to be comfortable with who he is becoming (when he’s older of course) without having to worry what his cousin is doing. I want him to be who he wants without worry of comparison or judgement. 
I tried talking to her about it, but she sees nothing wrong with a “little competition, it builds character” 😡😡

Luckily we will be having the first baby on both sides, however MY grandma had 20 grandkids and 4 great grandkids and there's not a day that goes by that I don't hear her comparing one of them to another.
