tying him up??

So my boyfriend and I have an amazing sex life but we do try to learn new things about each other and keep it exciting. We love it rough and he likes it when I take control in the bedroom (normally just choking and holding his arms down when I'm on top). But I found this rope and I looped it under the mattress so it can tie his hands back. I have this plan to dress up, tie him up, take off his clothes (but leave his shirt over his eyes), and go to town. But it's so intense of a plan that I'm nervous!! Is it too much at once?? Do guys even like being actually tied up?
