How would you tell your family that you want to bond with the child when coming home from the hospital?

We recently had the baby shower at 32weeks and we argued about a sign in the yard. She wanted to put one in the yard, but I did not. We live in a duplex and we have nosey neighbors so I most definitely didn’t want to put them out there.

Then, today my SO and I were talking about how much time he was taking off after the baby was off and she kept saying how she was going to take the baby, while I slept (which I appreciate to a point) but then kept insisting how she was always going to watch him even when I’m awake. Even mentioned how she’s going to grab my boob to feed him even!!!!

I’ve mentioned once before how after the baby is born I wasn’t having guest over for the first 3 days so my SO and I so we bond with him.

My question is: how or what would you do in this situation? I’m at wits end on how to nicely approach this topic with out blowing up.
