Do you think standardised testing works for the majority of students

I honestly hated them and basically guessed on most of them. They stressed me out and I had a certain amount of time to do it so I just picked an answer and hoped it was right. Tests in general stress the fuck out of me. I do way better on regular tests and assignments though because I have more time and don't have to rush

No. It causes extreme anxiety, and doesn’t test anything aside from what a child can memorize. It forces teachers to “teach to the test” instead of teaching for real life. It’s a detriment to our education system.

I cannot do them. I freak and have panic attacks at the computer. The sad thing is, I have seen multiple people that were very, very brilliant fail at those tests. I am glad that my 504 plan lets me get out of them

No. I’ve had  brilliant  students fail the standardized test and poor students pass it. These tests are awful. No 9 year old should have to deal with this stress.

I think it is does a really poor job on measuring the actual knowledge a student has gained and puts unnecessary pressure on both students and teachers. If anything, it's main purpose seems to be punishing underperforming schools badly in need of resources by cutting their funding. I remember being in high school and my teachers telling me and my peers that if we didn't test well, the school wouldn't receive the funding it needed. Several of my peers became physically sick or developed anxiety or depression as a result of all of that pressure.

No. It doesn’t represent who a student is, and how they perform academically. You wouldn’t believe how stressed kids get over a test. I hate them, I really don’t think they should be a thing. There are other ways to provide data if students are learning.

I just had a debate with a woman about this. I’m completely against the use of a random test to memorize and pass just for funding. Call it what it really is. Although I understand why schools that don’t have enough funding need to do well to get more $$$. She claimed she was an educator and said that it’s a good thing for students because in the past four years her school has done better each year.... 😑. Lady, your school has major incentives to do well. Heck, our school gave us an hour off every 10% we got over 70% as a whole. So does it help the kids? Well, I guess it helped us leave early. 🤷🏼‍♀️
