Vaginal dryness and redness after monistat?

I had itchiness which started in the morning by midnight it got worst. Bought a Monistat 1 and helped me with the inflammation and most of the itching. Didn’t see any discharged except that of the monistat. Didn’t have a foul odor or burning from urinating. All my symptoms were just itching, inflammation and it also felt real hot. While taking the monistat helped relieve the symptoms for a few days but on day 6 I was feeling the uncomfortable itch and my vulva felt dry and was super red. Has this happen to anyone ? What can I do to bring my wonderful vagina back to life? I am currently on day 3 of the monistat 3 but my vulva still looks red. Also, my bf caught it too he only had a fishy odor that of which I had non of and like mucus under his penis head. No pain, no itch, looked like smagma (according to google). Should we worry? We have been together for 8 months we both are faithful, I trust him. This is the first time we ever encounter any of this together.
