Doggie Issues

Arlene

Ok so since I got pregnant my dog (a min pin/chihuahua mix) started peeing and pooping in the house and acting really skittish. She was never an indoor pee-er or pooper unless left unattended more than 10 hrs. Anywho. We took her to the vet and contacted a petsmart trainer who all said it was an adjustment thing and once the baby came she’d be ok. That it was my hormones making me smell funny and that she can hear the baby but not see it. So she was confused. Well fast forward to baby’s arrival and things go well for about a month and a half until she starts peeing and acting skittish again. As far as I can tell there has been nothing to retrigger the bad behavior. We have let her smell and tried letting her bond with baby and she has peed in his tummy time area and all over my kitchen and bathroom (from running away and trying to hide). We slowly started taking things away the more she peed and now our only option has been to put her outside. (Which breaks my heart). She lost bed and couch privileges by peeing on them multiple times. She lost carpet privileges by peeing on it after I got the carpets cleaned and peeing in tummy time area. And now she has lost kitchen/indoor time because of peeing. I’m at a loss for what to do. This pooch has been like my first child and I hate to see her outdoors and hear her whining wanting to come back inside. :-/ I want to run and let her in but I’m also tired of all the peeing and tired of hearing hubs and I discipline her for peeing inside. How do I ease the transition from indoor princess to outdoor dog? She’s going on 11 this year.
