is having a c section scary?? Like from the spinal all the way to them cutting on you?? how did y'all calm ya nerves?? ftm here

My water broke last Thursday at 36w1d and I  ended up having an unplanned section due to baby being breech. I was very nervous at first but it wasn’t as bad as I had thought. I didn’t even feel the epidural due to the numbing meds they give you before hand and I didn’t even realize they had begun the surgery until the announced the time my son was born. I was up walking around the next day and able to help participate in the care of my son. You will do great momma! The end result is worth it all❤️

You ladies do not understand how soothing your stories are I will be having my baby boy at 37 weeks via c-section and I’m nervous about the epidural and spinal block this has made me feel better

I had 2 c sections. It’s normal to be nervous but once they give you the epidural or spinal block it’s painless. 
I was given morphine afterwards. I recovered fairly quickly. I was able to walk around the next day and be with my baby. Try deep breathing to calm your nerves or some music.

It wasn’t scary for me because I had an emergency c section and I was just in so much pain at that point I just wanted them to make it stop.

The thought of it is scary but you’d be surprised how much you could stand. You won’t feel pain just pressure. Just think of the outcome your precious baby will be with you in no time.

The best thing to get through it is to distract yourself during, have someone come hold your hand and talk to you while its happening. That help me alot and I was really anxious the whole time but it helped to have someoe there talking and distracting.  I have an anxiety disorder though so it is possible that some women get through it much easier. I think they dont let the birth partner in until you're all prepped and numbed so getting the spinal alone is a bit scary but let them know of you're nervous, they're used to it, they can do their best to reassure you.

No, to he honest I'm glad to be having another c section, i had a hard vaginal birth with my son he's 8 now, I had a car section with my daughter a year ago, and I'm 30 weeks with my baby boy and getting another c section, I honestly didn't even feel a thing when they took him out nothing. The only thing I didn't like is when after you deliver hours later the nurses have to come in and push down on your cut 😩 but other than that everything went smooth for me.

mine was a emergency csection. like got to the hospital ( 7am)because of serious pain, went into triage, they called my doctor, sent up to be prepped, then wheeled back to the room, husband wasn't allowed while do spinal but the nurse was amazing even though a needle in my back multiple time was nerve wrecking but after they finally got it in I didn't really feel anything. they laid me down put warm blankets over my arms and chest, put a sheet up and my husband came up they started I swear he had just sat down and the doctor told me incision down dad stand up please and out popped my baby boy. they started closing me up and then my husband brought the baby over. and I was in the recovery room by 9:30am. it was very quick and I didn't really feel any pain until about 11-12 and they gave me pain meds immediately and I was fine.
