Do you think renewable energy is the way we should be heading as a society?

So Sophie got me thinking of another poll on my tablet vs textbook poll. 😂 Do you think we should be heading towards using renewable energy completely instead of fossil fuels and resources that can run out? Why or why not?

Yes! Mining and using non-renewable energy sources is not only harmful to the environment but they will run out at some point. I think it’s better to invest into renewable energy sources now while we still have the traditional ones as back up then later on when we are basically fucked 🙃

Yes, and I really wonder why anybody would say no to that as an option. We may not run out of resources in this lifetime, but you can’t think ahead to future generations and want to leave a decent earth to your kids and grandkids? I see absolutely no reason to be against renewable energy

We're putting solar panels on our house this summer 😁 So excited, if you dont think its important from an environmental standpoint, it's still important from a financial perspective.

No brainer, yes. But my family makes money selling to the oil and gas industry haha, sooo...go oil and gas!

Yes! Save the Earth! At the moment we’re using stuff that is a major factor to global warming and is killing the earth. Renewable energy is the way to go

Well, there are some pretty amazing countries, that have already done this. Those countries just happen not to be in North America.

it really depends on the type and the effect it can have on the environment, but for the most part, yes.

Eh, I’m probably very biased on this.
My dad works at a coal plant right now and they are switching it over to a fossil fuel plant, which means theyre cutting employment by 60%. Everyone at the coal plant is being fired, and they’re decreasing the amount of jobs that were once needed and in demand. 
Coal is extremely reliable, it can supply power when more power is needed without increasing blackouts. And since coal is very abundant, it’s also very affordable.
Sure, there are new ways of doing things but that doesn’t mean we can’t have both old and new ways working together.
