diapers every hour/hour half?

is that normal for cloth diaper or do i not have the right liner? ive been using 6ply prefolds as inserts bc i havent bout the actual inserts yet. have only like 5 of those running around.

Depends on the age and how much absorbency. When my little was small we changed that often. Now that she’s older we added a hemp booster and she goes more like 3ish hours.

These are the NB prefolds in a pocket shell, which don’t seem that bulky to me. They are going to be bulkier than disposables, though, no matter what insert type you use.

I use 6-8 ply cotton newborn prefolds and they last 2-2.5 hours for my 3.5-month-old. If I throw in a flannel doubler (made from old, unused receiving blankets), I can get 2.5-3 hours. If you’re going to buy inserts anyways, I recommend good quality unbleached cotton or hemp blend prefolds or inserts. No microfiber or charcoal bamboo, they aren’t as absorbent.

Our newborn we had to change like every 60-90 minutes. I had wondered if i had made a mistake in choosing cloth! It gets better.  Not sure which age you’re referring to though. In general, cloth isn’t as absorbent as disposables due to the lack of chemicals.

I agree that it does depend on age. My 2.5yr old (still in the midst of potty learning) needs to be changed every 2hours, sometimes sooner, but not often. My 6week old on the other hand needs to be changed every 45mins-1hour.
