on April 29th my daughter developed a severe diaper rash. I have been nothing but diligent with changing diapers before hand and after. as soon as the line turns blue, I'm changing her. I took her to the hospital as it didn't seem to be clearing up like it normally does and he told me that it was a yeast infection and prescribe hydrocortisone cream (a topical steroid cream used for eczema and psoriasis. this is not at all what was supposed to be prescribed. after I realized that the cream was not working like it should have been I took her back into the hospital on Sunday May 6th and the doctor had told me that the doctor that I have seen it before had prescribed me the wrong medication for her. I have now been prescribed an antifungal cream but it seems as though that is not helping either. I was also told to leave her diaper off as much as possible, but even that isn't helping. I am doing the best that I can to keep her bum dry but all that it does is bleed and cause her pain. it seems as though it is spreading at a pace so rapid that I cannot control it. because of this she has not been sleeping for more than an hour at a time and in about a week I have only gotten 14 hours of sleep in total. I am exhausted and I know that she's in pain but I feel like there's more that I can do for her that I am not able to at the moment. does anybody have any information on severe yeast infections on an infant and how to control some of their pain that goes along with them. I feel like such a terrible mother because I cannot do more for my child. I need help before I have a mental breakdown. all that I want is for my daughter to be better all that I want is for me to be able to take her pain away. someone please help!
