Some people like to go all out I guess. Mine are going all out on a Diaper Shower, because we already have all the big ticket items. Plus this is my fiancé’s very first biological child and first biological grandchild to his mother. On top of that their family is full of women, so a birth of a baby boy is rare. I’d consider those reasons to go all out, but others may not. This will be my first boy as well. I already have 2 girls, ages 6 and 8 years old. I’m pretty excited, so if my future mother n law wants to throw a huge shower for us then I’m sure as hell not going to stop her. lol.

Everyone is different so people do what they want to. If they want an over the top shower then it’s fine. I don’t see any issue with it. As long as it makes them happy

I agree w/ you somewhat, if someone has family/friends who want to go all out & they also want a big themed celebration then that’s cool, the problems come when people can’t afford a big celebration or can’t agree on theme/venue/food etc. & then people get all stressed out & it ends up not being a fun relaxing celebration of mom & baby it’s just this thing that has gotten out of control & just makes the mom miserable
