Laser hair removal?!?

I’m wanting to get full Brazilian and underarms done. I just have a few questions
1. Do you need to shave before the treatment?
2. How many treatments do you need before the hair stops growing? I have dark hair
3. Can you shave in between treatments
4. How painful is it?

I did my underarms and bikini. I paid for the 10 sessions they say gets at least 95% of the hair in the area. 10 sessions 8 weeks apart. You actually should not shave before. They said don't shave at least two days before your appt. This lessens the irritation and makes it easier for the tech to see the follicle. Even in the sensitive areas like the bikini line, it wasn't very painful for me. It's a quick zap and at Ideal Image the laser shoots cool air out just before the zap comes. They also have doctors and nurses practitioners on site that can give you a prescription for a mild numbing cream or a steroid cream for irritation afterward. I would not go to a salon to get it done, I would only go to a place that specializes in hair removal. I'm soooo glad I had it done, the only hair I have left is blonde and light brown hairs the laser cannot detect and remove.

Hi Lena, I get the IPL treatment for Brazilian and under arms. You do need to shave before you go, at least 48 hours before your appointment so there is stubble and they can see where your hair grows. It doesn’t hurt at all at first but they set it higher every time you go. The highest setting is bearable though and it feels like a rubber band flicking on your skin. They say you need 10-12 treatments, although I’m up to 16 I think because my hair is fairer. But for the most part I barely have any hairs growing now. You can also shave as much as you like between treatments, you just can’t pluck or wax. I hope that helps, and good luck with your treatments 🙂

Hey girl! Here in the US it's about 5 sessions every 4-6 weeks...it can take less or more...Dark hair is actually easier to remove than blonde! Where I went I had to be freshly shaven before I went for treatment if not I had to pay extra for them to shave me. You can shave in between treatments but no waxing! I wouldn't say there is a pain it's just an uncomfortable sensation in some areas...I definitely recommend!
