What is my boy friend waiting for

Hello where do I start well I've never been pregnant before and I'm 28 years old my boyfriend is about to be 40 years old and I want a baby he does but he's telling me that we should wait but I don't know because I've never been pregnant before and I'm not sure if I even can i go to the Ogyn every year and they told me everything is okay but I don't want to pressure my boyfriend but at the same time I feel like I need to  we also been together for three years just don't know what to do anymore😩!!!
