Line is dark when I wouldn’t expect it to be...

Hi.

If I have a fairly dark test line (though it’s still a negative as it’s still paler than the control line) does that mean that the line will always get darker in the next few days and then I should ovulate and get a positive or not?

It’s just that I’m new to using OPKs and I’m surprised to be getting such a dark line early in my cycle when my cycles aren’t that short...
