Switch doctors?

I’m almost 30 weeks. I love my doctor, but HATE the hospital he delivers at. However, there’s a hospital near me that I had my first at and I absolutely loved it. They were amazing, but.. all the doctors that take my insurance for that hospital are horrible. I’m debating on what I should do. Hubby says we keep the doctor I have, and just go to the other hospital when I’m in labor and deliver there without my doctor. As long as baby is being delivered, it doesn’t really
Matter who does it anyways. They don’t even call your OB until they see the head so technically all they do is catch the baby anyways. What do you ladies think?

Do what you think is right. I personally don’t care what doctor I have as my doctor and idc who delivers my baby because either my child is being born

With my third baby I switched Doctors and hospital at 35 weeks. We had moved at the beggining of my pregnancy so this was a new hospital but I wasn't comfortable with it so i switched to a different one. It was such a relief because i was extremely stressed out because I absolutely did not feel comfortable having my third csection done there.

I would say the doctor is probably more important than the hospital if you need to prioritize one!

I am honestly in a similar situation as I've also had a bad experince at the hospital my doctor is affiliated with. I was planning on doing the same exact thing that you are planning to do, but I feel bad for my doctor. Ultimately, I know once the time comes, I will give birth in the other hospital. But I can't help feeling guilty.

if I'm not mistaking (and depending on your state)... you should be able to show up at whatever hospital you want to deliver at. I also love my doctor but there's no 100% guarantee that she's going to be on rotation when I go into labor. If a doctor I don't know is going to do my delivery, I would rather be at the hospital I want to be at.

why do you have the hospital? personally I could care less about the hospital the doctor is what matters to me.

I have a high risk team of drs and have liked all of them just not happy with how small the labor and delivery rooms are I liked the hospital I had my daughter at but being high risk and having such a good team on board who all are following me and baby I would rather have them deliver and if I was to go into labor I know I would have one of my 7 drs to be there and make sure both of us are ok but I am being induced and I care who delivers my babies I don’t want someone who doesn’t know me or my baby bcz many things can go wrong I have been lucky enough to be induced with my first two so my drs were there to deliver my kids and I am being induced again

I'd stick with your doctor and go to the other hospital if that's where you want to deliver. I personally don't care what hospital I deliver at but I don't really know the hospitals around here either. I switched doctors at 20 weeks because I hated my old obgyn. that was the best choice I could have made. I hate having to go see someone once a month who I don't get along with or trust.

I’m 27 weeks and have just changed over hospitals.

My office rotates doctors so I have no idea which will be on call when I have my baby, but I’ve met most and they are all pretty wonderful. I would lick the betted hospital but if your more comfortable with your doctor I say go with him!
