Procardia for preterm contractions.?

Question

I'll be 34 weeks on Thursday and Sunday I wound up in the ER due to preterm labor contractions and dilating 1cm, I had a follow up with my OB/GYN today and he put me on the medicine procardia if my contractions were to start back up again. I have another appt next Tuesday the 22nd to follow up on the medicine and contractions and he's put me on modified bed rest (no work) until then. Anyone else have this issue? How did it go for you? I HATE taking medicine so I'm weary about taking it

I took Procardia from 29 weeks until I delivered just before 35 weeks.  I had twins though, so that's why I was so early.  My second pregnancy was a single baby and I had some preterm labor, took a low dose of Procardia, and made it to almost 39 weeks.

I went into preterm labor on Tuesday at 34weeks 4days and was immediately given 20mg Procardia. My contractions were two minutes apart and lasting over a minute. But the medicine worked and stopped my labor.,I continued the medicine every 8 hours until I hit 35 weeks and then was able to stop (that was Friday). Since then I’ve had contractions on and off with cramping but nothing serious. I’m also on “modified bed rest” and was taken out of work. I would def take the medicine. I begged him to stop my labor as I want a strong healthy baby. I am 1cm and baby is in birthing position. I just want to make it to 37 weeks and I’ll be satisfied. Little over a week to go! Hang in there! Your not alone! I pray everything goes great for you & baby!

I was in the hospital this past week and refused it. I had a horrible experience with it during my first pregnancy and it didn’t stop labor he still came early. I’m 35 weeks today. They let me go and told me to come back if my

I have taken procarida with both of my pregnancies for this same reason. With my daughter I had to take it every six hours and the worst part was it just made my mouth dry. This time I take a 24 hour release procarida and magnesium oxide daily and brethine (only as needed). 
It helps keep my contractions under control to keep me from going into labor. I highly suggest taking it, it’s better to take medicine then have a preemie. I hate taking medicine too but I know it’s what’s best for my baby so I take it. I’ve been on it since 30 weeks and I’m 34+4 now. I’ve been on the magnesium since 29 weeks and that was after 48 hours of a mag drip (horrible medicine just be glad you did not have to have that, it’s makes you feel like you’re on fire from the inside out).

I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow and I have contractions all the time and I'm dilated to a 1 this is my third baby and I was told that I'm just one of those people that has contractions but I'm going to double-check with my doctor tomorrow at my appointment to see if I've dilated anymore they always thought she was going to come a little early anyways my other two were born at 39 weeks
