Returning/ donating unwanted shower gifts

I got so many blankets at my shower, it's insane! They literally fill 2 laundry baskets. I'll never use them all. Some I can return bc I know where they came from. Others are weird brands so I have no idea where the person got them. And then there's all those hand made one from older relatives (bless there hearts) that are just so ugly or scratchy. Lol. I feel aweful returning or giving them away in fear that the person will come over and say "so does baby just love the blankie I made him!"  What did you do with unwanted shower gifts?
