can i just stop taking it?

I've been on birth control pills for over a year now. Originally i got on them to regulate my periods but I've recently thought about stopping them (after i finish my current pack) since I've been on them so long now so my cycles might be regulated now. I also want to stop them because they've started giving me side effects for the past couple months (weight gain, mood swings, vaginal issues) Can I just stop taking them? Are there usually side effects from stopping?

you can just stop them you don't have to talk to your Dr before stopping them.

For me, you’ll usually get a heavier period and it might be a little late the first couple times. I get bad symptoms from taking pills also so when I stop taking them it usually goes away

Yeah when I stopped for a few months I was spotting for awhile and my period skipped for two months but started again on the third month

You should consult your physician before beginning or quitting any medication. Birth control is not really a solution to regulate someone’s cycle. It is a temporary fix. Usually when you quit birth control your cycle will go back to whatever it was when you were not on birth control.

I noticed being on mine for 4 months I started getting extremely moody and very heartless.. Like I have no feelings. I was also getting a light period 2-3x a month and my reg dr said it was normal.. i said bs... for the past 4 months ive had that some people (like me) dont always have money to constantly have to get triple the amount of feminine products due to it.

can i just stop taking it?
