PCOS cure?
So, my husband and I saw on IFLScience that doctors have isolated what hormone causes PCOS and think they have found a way to cure it in mice and the human trials start towards the end of this year.
The reason I bring this up is, at first glance you are elated and ready to sign up and wait in line for the "cure", right? Then I figure out, its actually a fertility drug that they used to cure it.
As someone who has been TTC for almost 3 years after being diagnosed, I halfway am exhilarated & wishing for this to really be the answer. (Not just for the TTC effects, but the excessive hair, acne and mood swings on the daily) On the other hand, as a sceptic, I know they have said this before and I am tired of getting my hopes up, just to be shot down again.
My husband knows how hard this has all been on us, and me especially, but if I am going to have to take a fertility drug to get better, shouldnt I just ask my dr to start me on Clomid/path towards IUI or IVF?
OR
To continue to wait it out and see if the research plans out, or if by some miracle we actually see a BFP?
Any advice helps.
