False labor or what..

So about 1am+ I went to labor and delivery due to contractions 5min apart. Well I dilated 2cm & 50% effaced... Have been losing pieces of my plug since last Friday(I know it doesn't necessarily indicate labor) well I was in the hospital for 8+ hrs just to be sent home all because my cervix didn't change which is quite disappointing seeing that my back pain is above the roof! So I'm guessing it's considered false labor right? Oh & I only have 18 days until my due date..
