Just watery mucus or water broke?

Question

I got up to pee this morning and after cleaning myself, I was still losing liquid. Question is: could it be that my water membrane sack already has a small rupture? Or is this just watery mucus? I am 39+1 weeks. How much time do you have after your water starts leaking before you really need to go to the hospital to get the baby out? Because I’d like to stay home as long as possible :)

Put on a panty liner or a pad and walk around. If it gets soaked in 20 minutes or less then it’s most likely your water!!!!

I woke up with a lot today too (39+1 also) and I'm pretty sure mine is just discharge. If it doesn't stop, call your ob and see if they can get you an appt today.

If your water leaks/breaks you should call your doctor or go to L&D; right away to be checked because you don’t want to risk infection :)
