Pumping only

Is it ok to strictly pump and save the  colostrum/ milk. My boobs are so engorged I did pump and got a lot out. I fed her that in a bottle and she took it almost better than the breast. & she is eating more without spitting it up.. We feed with a nipple shield do to flatter nipples. I feel like maybe she is getting to much at a time when she BF. & she gets frustrated when I take it off and try without.. Help me first time mommy here!

The milk is the important part not the bottle or breast. Every mommy and baby are different and your doing a great job!! If pumping is making things easier for the two of you then go for it!

I'm pumping only, and I like it more because I know how much she's getting. Also, it mixes the fore milk and hind milk so she doesn't end up with grass green poop

Exactly what Chantel said. You have to do what is going to make you and baby happiest!

I pump only now, I breast fed until two weeks old but he would nurse/ hang out on my boob for two hours at a time and I like being able to tell how much exactly he is getting per feeding

Yes I don't like that I can't tell either. We use a shield and it's more painful then not. Then when I move her its wasting time and she gets frustrated..

No problem with pumping, but I hate doing all those dishes! How old is baby?  My baby used shields thru wk5, and sometimes we use them still at 8wks during the notoriously fussy evening feeds... BFing is frustrating at first - I wanted to do pumping only too when he started screaming at the breast at wks6 & 7.  But things get easier and easier every day!

I have strictly pumped and bottle fed today. She likes bottles, but also need to breast feed with a shield. She doesn't seem to get as much, it's painful and she gets frustrated easily. That's why I've been pumping. Been a lot easier this way..

I haven't bottled baby in over 2wks because he started screaming at the breast & I learned that bottles were the worst thing to do for that.

me? I might not pump some days, or some days when I have time I'll pump once or twice. I had to pump the other night because baby only took one breast and I was engorged... I need to start pumping more to get a stash soon tho!

I only pump because my son is tongue tied and I don't want to get it cut. No judgment please.. But you just need to make sure you pump as frequent as your baby would eat every 1-2 hours. And make sure you get every drop out you might need to hand express to get the last drops out. My supply went down dramatically and it's so unbelievably stressful I don't want other moms to expiernce it.
