Provera and infertility

My fiance and I have been trying to conceive for two months now (not long, I know). I have not had a period since may 10th which was also when I took my last round of birth control. I have PCOS so I am not sure if the absence of my periods are because of the stoppage of birth control or PCOS (the reason I went on birth control in the first place). I'm fearful that I may be battling fertility issues. My doctor wants to put me on Provera to help with my period. Will provera help with fertility issues as well?
