Short leuteal phase (clomid and Provera)

alyssa

I have never posted on here before but I’m trying to figure out the best and most cost effective route to go. We have been ttc#2 since Jan 2017. I miscarried in April 2017 and has a d&c; then. Since then my periods have been irregular for me and I have noticed my luteal phase has been short about 7-10 days. Every once and a while it will be 12 days. I have had 2 rounds of clomid with positive ovulation but since then my luteal phase has been short. I went to my doc today and told him. I was more irritated that I’m irregular (23 day cycle) for me (used to be 29-36). I suggested a luteal phase defect but he didn’t think it was that bad so he agreed to put me on a low dose Provera to help with the short luteal phase. I’ve been researching and haven’t found much information on Provera for short luteal phase but I have found information that kinda contradicts it. Has anyone taken the two together and have success. Also I already have hormone imbalances. I am treated already for hypothyroid and hyperprolactinemia which I was diagnosed prior to my son and had no difficulty getting pregnant then. Sorry for the long post but any suggestions are appreciated. I did get a referral for a reproductive endocrine but my OB gyn thought I needed to give more time but I think this is all a hormonal issue that he is not addressing and my prior history of hormone imbalance doesn’t help. Thanks again.
