soreness & itchiness

okay so, my vagina has been very itchy. i shower everyday, including cleaning down there, not too rough though. i didn’t know what the itchiness was from so i just went to walmart , looked for some itch cream and used the vagasil kind and it didn’t really help so i went back and got some medicine for a yeast infection, it’s like a tampon kinda figure and you just put the white ball on it and put it inside your vagina and leave it the white thing in, then remove the tampon shaped thing. it dissolves inside, i saw some improvement on the itching situation but now my clitoris hurts and it’s so sensitive. i can’t even touch it or anything. does anyone know what this issue may be or caused by?
