Copper IUD and spotting

So I messed up with taking my pill and had unprotected sex with my long term partner. Had a bit of a panic and realised that if I wasn’t protected by the pill then I would be fertile — and ya gal is not ready to potentially be a mama!

Ended up taking levonelle and having a copper IUD fitted (on Tuesday) and have had cramps and spotting since then (a week of grumpy me.) On Sunday morning I think I had my (early period) but I’m not 100% sure.

I know that the morning after pill and the pill (which I continued to take) can cause an early period, but do any of you lovely ladies know how long spotting can last after having a copper coil fitted?
