I spoke to some people who said the LMP method is more reliable than the measurement of the fetus... thoughts? I have a week difference between the two

it's not. because some women don't ovulate at the "normal" time. I was breastfeeding when I got pregnant with my second so instead of ovulating of day 14, I ovulated on day 35. that make a a huge difference

Ultrasound dating is most accurate between 8 & 11 weeks. Before is too early to be accurate and after too late. LMP is good if you have been menstruating & you're regular.

The first ultrasound is more reliable. LMP assumes women ovulate on day 14 of their cycle, which has never been true for me. If you have longer or irregular cycles, LMP can be pretty off.

I think a lot of doctors don’t move your EDD unless your baby measures more than a week ahead of where you LMP puts you.
(So, my due date is 11/9 and they’d keep it there if measurement spit me at 11/5, but if they put me at 10/31 they’d move it up.)
Of course, every doctor might take a different approach.

All the drs I have ever talked to always say LMP. even if I was measuring a week ahead/behind they've never changed it.

I had an IUI so i know exactly when I conceived, but baby has measured a week ahead at every scan.
