Painful sex

I’ve never had sex with someone considered big, most are just average size. However, sex with the average guys is painful in almost every position besides missionary, with and without a condom. It feels like it’s poking my bladder or stretching me. When we first start out it doesn’t hurt but after a few minutes it begins to hurt, does anyone know why? I’d like to hear a few explanations before spending money on the doctor
