When to take Maternity leave?

Hey ladies, so I’m only 34 weeks but my little man is measuring 2 weeks ahead of that and is super low. The back pain and lack of sleep is making it hard to work all day...Now, I was fine, but a coworker on my team is being induced this week and her entire workload has been put on my shoulders (dont understand this since I’ll be out soon as well and they won’t have anyone to do it) but anyways...since that happened last week it’s been ever harder to go in to work. When did you ladies take your maternity leave?  I’m thinking about giving them a notice that I’ll be going out once I’m 37 weeks so around mid-June?

I’m done with work at 38 weeks + 4 days. I’m a teacher so I’m trying to make it until the kids are done, I’d hate to miss their last week. I’m 37 weeks tomorrow and would start leave now if it weren’t for that; pelvic pain has started and it really sucks!!

Due June 13 and I think June 1st is going to be my last day, unless I’m just feeling really good at the end of the week.

My last day is June 6th and I’m due June 18th, I was hoping to work all the way until I gave birth but this last trimester has made it impossible 😩

I won’t start my leave until she’s born. Actually I work they day of my induction. I’ll get off work at 7:30-7:45pm and then head home, change clothes, grab something to eat, and then go to the hospital where we’re delivering. 😂 But I’m also orienting a new nurse my next three shifts so I get to manage and not do too much. Like I could do a ton right now anyway! I can’t even pick up stuff I’ve dropped and I drop a LOT of things lately. 🤣🤣

I’m working all the way up to my due date. However, since I’ve been 32 weeks along, I’ve been using a vacation day/pay every week so I only am working 4 days a week instead of 5.

I am due June 18th, and I’ll be working up until I deliver. I want to use all my leave when my little man makes his arrival. It has gotten very difficult, though, as I work 12 hour shifts as a nurse in a busy Pediatric ICU. It will be worth it when he arrives though!

what kind of job do you do? I was working a job that kept me on my feet and lifting things all day so I left at 34 weeks because my feet would get so swollen. if it's a desk job I would say try to go longer, but whatever you can handle tbh. you are the mama and baby certainly feels the stress! 💕

I plan to work until the week before my due date so I’m due on the 16th June and my last day is set for June 8th. My lil guy is measuring 2-3 wks ahead as well. I’ve been 2cm dilated since 34 wks and have regular daily BH contractions as well as 1-2 big contractions a week that I’m pretty sure are just preparing me for what’s to come. 😳 I have a desk job as well so it’s not a big deal to me to work longer.

I think it depends on what you’re job is. I work a desk job, so it isn’t really physically strenuous. With my first, I worked until the week of his due date, and he was born on his due date, so I really only had one day off before he was born. With this one, I am working from home starting this week, and he is due on the 13th. I wanted to get a little bit more of a break than last time because I remember how hard it was just getting up and to work toward the end.  If I had not been approved to work from home, I probably would have planned to stay home starting about 39 weeks or at least a few days before my due date depending on how my dr appts were going.
