Our last name is smith! I want to name our future (still trying to conceive) baby boy after both mine and my husbands grandfathers. John Owen smith and call him John Owen. My question is am I making a mistake with naming my son John Smith?

Why not Owen John? John smith is just such a common name. I dated a guy named John smith when I was like 16, and my parents literally wouldn't let me go anywhere with him because they were like "John smith?? Seriously? Yeah you're not going" thinking he was like a pedophile or something. Just saying 😬🤷🏻‍♀️

I think you’re fine, but you could make his first name John Owen instead of Owen as a middle. I personally prefer John Owen over Owen John. Its a strong lovely name with a family connection.
