To be induced or not to be?

First time mom here and I have an induced date planned for July 16th because my husbands work schedule is crazy! I literally know nothing about being induced. Pros and cons please!!

I ended up having to be induced because my waters had broken but I wasn’t dilating and my contractions weren’t enough for me to be in ‘active’ labour. Within 3 hours of being induced I was definitely in active labour, but I still wasn’t dilating. They upped my pitocin, another 6 or so hours later I’d dilated to 4cm and just stopped. They kept upping it and i wasn’t progressing, I was almost 20 hours (from start of induction) into labour. My contractions at this point were back to back with no breaks in between so they prepped me for a c-section, got my epidural and passed the heck out lol they decided to let me rest for a couple of hours because baby wasn’t distressed, just before they they decided to wheel me off they thought they’d check my progress and gotten to 8cm. Within a few hours after that I had my little girl via vacuum delivery. I think being induced definitely made it more intense, but I’m glad I went through with it. I’d 100% do it again but I’d opt for an earlier epidural 🙂 I think my body was just too worn out and tense, I just needed something to relax for it do what it needed to do.

When is your due date? 
I was induced with my second BUT I put it off for 2 weeks past my due date. The doc broke my water and it was hell for 30min. One constant non stop contraction (it felt like)....then 30min of intense pushing and he was out. 
Unless the baby's health of mama's health is in danger I think it's best for your body to decide when labour happens. Starting it artificially can lead to unnecessary complications.

I was.induced with my first and it failed so had to have a c-section. I didn't want an epidural but begged for it after they broke my water about 18 hours in...and they increased the pitocin. The contractions were unreal. I would love to try all natural, no induction this time if possible. I hear contractions are way worse with pitocin so I like to see if there really is a difference or if I just can't handle pain. lol Good luck!

Being induced and going all natural (no epidural or pain meds) is painful lol! I was induced with 2 births and went into labour on my own with my last..and the pain is WAYY more intense with pitocin

so I was actually induced yesterday and honestly LOVED IT! like best decision ever, I went in and they got me hooked up, to everything and started me on picton, they broke my water and they gave me the epidural immediately after because I didnt wanna feel anything! and that was the most painful part was them breaking my water and getting the epidural. After the epidural I didnt feel anything, not one contraction, my legs went completely numb it was a continuous drip so it never wore off my back went numb to. i labored for 13 1/2 hours and then they said hey time to  push and i pushed for 15 min and she was here they pushing was a breeze it just felt like pressure. I did get a second degree tear but it's not unbearable just a bit painful. I'd do it again in the future if given the option!
