At Home Water Birth or Completely Natural?

Question

Have any of you ladies went through an at home water birth? Can you share your experiences? How was the pain?
And have you ever gone completely natural with no epidural? Please share your experiences with that too. I have scoliosis and I heard that epidural can cause back problems as you get older. I don’t plan on getting epidural but I’m a wimp when it comes to period cramps so I don’t know how I’ll survive contractions.

We’re planning a home water birth for our first baby. Do tons of research, stay practicing relaxation and meditation techniques now. Read positive birth stories and positive birth affirmations  Have a great birth team. Trust your body, the pain you’re going through is designed with a purpose. Know that you aren’t a failure if you need to transfer for any reason. You can do anything you set your mind to!

I had a natural water birth at a birthing centre with my son, and honestly it was the most amazing empowering experience of my life. I'm a HUGE pain wimp, but I made my plan to not have any intervention / pain relief unless medically necessary, and I was actually able to do it (my family and all my friends thought it was hilarious when I talked about my birthing plan pre-labour because they know what a wuss I am 😂)
I would love a home birth this time but my husband would prefer we were at the birthing centre (it's attached to a hospital so if anything goes wrong we're in the right place), and it's important for me to respect his wishes too / make sure he's comfortable & happy.

I've gone Completely natural. you can do it. all of my babies were sunny side up which makes it a bit more painful but it's okay. you won't regret it. I want a water birth just for some pain relief.

I don't consider my birth to have been completely natural since it was attended by trained midwives who monitored with a Doppler occasionally, and it was in a hospital within reach of the best doctors in the country
but it was without any medication, in a birthing tub. it was so great that I'm planning a second birth the same way if I can.

I’ve never had a water birth but had natural un-medicated and honestly the pain really felt like continuous really intense menstrual cramps. I was so zoned out the whole time and focused on breathing through the pain and getting the baby out that I don’t really remember anyone or anything. It was really like being in another world. Labor is different for everyone though, depends on your level of pain tolerance and determination. I don’t regret having an un-medicated birth, I actually loved it and am planning to do it again with baby #2. And I’ve heard some people have back pain after an epidural and some don’t, I guess that depends on the person and those administering it. If I can do it, you can do it! Good luck!
