Advice needed.

Hi everyone, just wanting advice on how you handled your newborn around people who smoked? Obviously while they are smoking i wont have my son anywhere near them but what about the left over smoke smell on there clothes etc? Would you find it ok for them to get a cuddle after smoking?

My MIL is a heavy smoker and the midwifes have explained the dangers of sids and smoking to me so now i am paranoid. I do not want to offend my MIL but should i be asking her to bring a smoke free shirt to change into when she holds him or am i thinking way to extreme??
