Was this a stupid idea?

so my boyfriend's has this one friend who likes him and all of his other friends are telling him to break up with me to date her. i told him to block them bc they are being rude and not listening to him about what he wants. this has been going on for the whole school year and this is the last week. today they said they would jump me bc i told him to block them. he didnt want me to get hurt so we are pretending to not be together anymore. i dont know if this was a good idea but he didnt want to take the chance of me getting hurt. tell me what you think.
