Elsie Chase born May 30
I went in for elective induction at 40+2 on May 30 at 7am. I was 3cm when I went in. They started pitocin and the doctor came in to break my water shortly after. Contractions started getting painful after about an hour and I got an epidural at 11:30am. The anesthesiologist had a hard time finding the right spot and I started to panic a little while trying to keep still through so many contractions. I felt like focusing on staying still like that actually helped the pain. He finally finished and it started working in just a few minutes. Baby girl did not like it, her heart rate dropped and they had me move onto my left side for her.
Around 1:30 her heart rate started spiking and they rushed in and had me move to my hands and knees (not an easy position when you’re hooked up to a bunch of monitors and can’t feel your legs). She stabilized and I was able to get back on my side after about 15 minutes. Then we just waited to get to 10cm.
She was born at 2:59pm on May 30. 9lbs 2oz and 19 3/4 inches
She is perfect 💜
