Did you tell your immediate family about your pregnancy before the first ultrasound at 8 weeks?

This is our first and we want to tell parents and feel like we should tell grandparents but don’t want them to grieve if we go in at 8 weeks and there’s no heartbeat as that’s what happened to a friend of ours.

We told people as soon as I got my BFP. Imagine if you do go in for your appointment and there isn’t a heartbeat, don’t you want the support from your family?

I told the people I’d want support from in the event of a miscarriage. I go to family dinner once a week and I spend a lot of time with mum so I wanted to know that if something was to happen - those same people could also help me through it.

We chose to. This pregnancy has already put me on one hell of a ride too with bleeding and cramping that has been going on for almost 4 weeks now so being able to talk to people and have a good support system has helped me big time. I’m waiting until 10-12 weeks to announce on social media for friends to see though.

I told my mom and mother in law! My mom pressured me into telling my grandma, which was a mistake. Now people I didn't want knowing know...
I had had a scan on Monday and found out we were just at 6 weeks. So 2 more weeks for another ultrasound and I guess I'll be announcing then, even though it's still earlier than I wanted. 😟
I saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks so there seem to be better odds of the baby staying around than not, but you never know... I don't have any symptoms this time so it's freaking me out a little. my first pregnancy I had non stop vomiting and nausea up until I gave birth!!

Yes. Because when I didn’t tell anyone and we lost a baby, I didn’t have the support I would have liked. For me, I preferred to have that support there.

My sister and a couple of my closest friends knew as soon as I was pregnant. I had no heartbeat on my first scan and after s month of scans was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage. I needed their support through that and I’m very glad they were there to help me. I can’t imagine coping without them. Thankfully they have also been a huge support through the 16 healthy weeks with my little happy bouncing rainbow. I think if my daughter were going through similar it would be so painful for me but not a patch on how it would feel if I thought she couldn’t tell me and I couldn’t hold her hand through it. All of that said, good luck with your pregnancy and I understand your fear but I’m sure your experience will be different from your friends. Congratulations!

I said yes but the only “family” I told was my husband and cousin the rest are find out when I get my first ultrasound

I told my mom the same day I tested. since I am not married, my mother is in charge of all of my estate, accounts, and health in the instance I cannot make my own decisions. not that I was worried pregnancy would kill me, however it is a "health condition" and things happen.
