Guardianship help
My mother has guardianship of my daughter. I still have all my legal rights and parental rights. No I’m not unfit or on drugs. I pay $288 a month in child support.
So my question is, how do I get visitation or custody? I was in her life from birth to almost 2 years old. When she was 1 year, she went into kinship with my mother. Even after that, she was spending weeks at a time at my house. We basically had 50/50 custody. But then my mother filed for guardianship. There was a mutual agreement that if she did all these things “for me” I could still see my daughter so I trusted her. She lied. Now she no longer has to let me see my baby unless I file something to see her?
What do I file? How do I get visitation back?? I have no idea how to do any of this. I’m only 23 and never done any of this before.
Edit: Again. I don’t have custody. My mother had kinship. If you don’t know what kinship is, don’t comment. After being in kinship for a year, she went to court for guardianship and I wasn’t aware. I wasn’t in court. I don’t have custody, she has physical placement of my daughter. I can’t just kidnap my daughter regardless if I gave birth to her.
It’s basically the same thing of a mom getting full custody and a dad getting nothing. I’m the dad in this case.
