Is melatonin safe?

I don’t have a doctor to ask yet, I’m only 4 weeks pregnant. But I’m sure someone else has asked THEIR doctor this question.

No, because it comes in a higher dose than recommended and it is not FDA approved, which means it’s not regulated and each tablet could have higher concentrations of hormones in it. 
Unisom is safe to take during pregnancy and is usually what is recommended by OBs and can also help morning sickness.

It's on the no list. My OB has me take Tylenol PM instead.

It’s not on my approved list my doctor gave me (which I’m sure isn’t exhaustive at all). Safe sleep aids listed are Unisom, Benadryl, and Tylenol PM.

My OB said it was fine. Unisom didn’t work for me, it made my rls worse, so she said melatonin was fine. It depends on your doctor apparently
