Preventing period???

Is there anyway you can prevent your period from coming? I’m extremely nervous to get mine because I am going on a 6 day camping trip and will have no access to bathrooms. I figured that after stopping taking my birthcontrol pills my period would come after. (Taking pills where you don’t get period.) well it hasnt cane yet and I’m very worried that it may come randomly while on my trip. Any advice on what to do? Should I start a new pack the day before I leave ????
