long/scary birth story!

Sophie 🌺

So on April 22nd was my baby shower and I started to think I hadn't felt the baby move in a while! So the next day I called my Dr office and asked to move my appt up from Fri to Tues (the next day). So i went to my appt at 11 am. my Dr asked the same question she always asked at every appt "have you been feeling baby move?" cuz when I called to change my appt I didn't mention I hadn't been feeling movement. I know, dumb! So she tried to hide the panic in her voice when I told her it's been since April 20 that I've felt really any movements. it was now April 24. So she sent me to ultrasound for monitoring for 30 min and the tech said she didn't see any movement at all so the ultrasound doctor came in and sent me to labor and delivery. so I called my hubby to come there. it was a 30 min drive. So I get to L&D; and not there for 10 min and his heart rate dropped into the 50s. So they kept watching and it dropped into the 50s and 60s 3 more times and they prepped me for an emergency c section. my hubby showed up just in time. went in to the OR at 2:00 and Xander Lee was born at 2:05 weighing 4lbs 13 oz. 5 weeks early. he was in the NICU for 2 weeks and got to come home! They sent my placenta off for testing to see why everything went wrong and testing showed half my placenta died and he was not getting enough oxygen or nutrients. thank God I went in when I did because when this happens almost all moms give birth to a sleeping baby!! So we were very lucky!
